CONTEMPORARIES
Matthew Couper:
These groups of works are by friends we have studied with, or
have met over the past few years. Some of the works are by practicing
artists who I studied with in the late 1990s at the Quay School
of the Arts, Wanganui Regional Community Polytechnic (now UCOL),
such as Pat Macan (now living in Sydney), Bek Coogan, Matt Hunt
and Hemi MacGregor (Wellington), Matthew Summers (London), Malcolm
Terry (Christchurch) and Nikolai Kokx (Wairarapa).
Kathleen
Becker majored in photography alongside Jo at Manukau School
of Visual Arts in Auckland. Other works are by artists we have
met from the Wellington region (David Cauchi, Ben Cauchi and
Amanda Ra).
I
was introduced to James Robinson through a mutual friend in 2003.
James is a generous artist and has given me several of his artworks.
The drawing in this section was James’ response
to an email conversation we had about having faith in your own
work. |
